William E. Lacey

William E. Lacey, age 83, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 while under the care of hospice. Bill was a graduate of Columbia University and had a long career as an entrepreneur with multiple mobile home parks and related business ventures.

He was a past president of The Mobile Home Association of Michigan and of the Grosse Pointe SunRise Rotary. Bill was an avid sportsman enjoying tennis, hunting, fishing, and recently, golf and was a member of the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club and Old Club on Harsens Island. He and his wife, Connie loved good food and wine and belonged to the Chaine des Rotisseurs, a gourmet group and to Nomads, a travel club, visiting many countries and taking an around the world trip.

He is survived by his loving wife Connie Lacey and sister, Kay F. Walters: children; Steven Lacey, Scott Lacey, Beth Marie Lacey, Don Allen: grandchildren; Amber, Erin, Spencer, Alexandra, Tom, Andrew, Sam and great grandchild, Anthony. He is preceded in death by his parents Ford Van Lacey and Frances (Sensiba) Lacey.

Bill was a loving and generous man, husband and grandfather.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m., located at Hiers-Baxley Funeral and Cremation Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, Florida 32162.
