A patient at an assisted living facility reported the disappearance of her debit card and $2,296 in unauthorized charges.

Lady Lake police were called Monday to Atria Assisted Living and Memory Care on County Road 466, where a 76-year-old woman detailed what had happened.

She said that on Aug. 13 she had been admitted at Leesburg Regional Medical Center. She was transferred to Cypress Care Center in Wildwood, where she stayed on Oct. 3 and 4. She was then returned to Atria, where she lives with her husband.

When she received her October statement from Wells Fargo, she noticed several unauthorized purchases. She has been unable to find her debit card. Wells Fargo indicated it would temporarily credit her account for $1,925.
