A Village of Silver Lake resident was jailed Friday after skipping court dates.
Edward Merced Jr., 41, who lives at 1013 Dustin Drive, was arrested on warrants charging him with failure to appear and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $11,000.
Merced had been arrested March 8 after his white Chrysler Sebring was pulled over at Morse Boulevard and El Camino Real. He was found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana, as well as driving on a suspended license.
Merced was arrested again the following month at the Shell station on the Historic Side of The Villages. He was released on $6,000 bond, money that has since been forfeited, according to Lake County Court records.
