A 20-year-old woman was rescued after her car was submerged in a water-filled ditch in Hillsborough County.
Amanda Nicole Antonio, of Seffner, had been at the wheel of Toyota Scion at 3:52 a.m. New Year’s Day traveling eastbound on Interstate 4, approaching the U.S. 301 exit ramp, when she was cut off by another vehicle, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Antonio lost control of the car, it left the roadway and overturned in a deep ditch.

Antonio was rescued from the submerged vehicle by a Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputy. She suffered minor injuries and was treated at Tampa General Hospital.
