A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a call for help at the Summerfield Wal-Mart on Sunday afternoon.
When the deputy arrived at the store, located at 17691 S U.S. Hwy. 27/441, a loss prevention officer said that a man and woman had come into the business and placed several items into a cart while walking through the aisles. Those included two DVDs, two pairs of binoculars, a BB gun, an adapter for a phone charger, two cell phone car mounts and two wireless phone chargers.
The loss prevention officer said the couple then walked out of the store without paying for any of the items, which were valued under $300. And he added that other merchandise that he couldn’t yet identify was taken as well.
