To the Editor:
I am a Republican who is upset with what our president has done. He has decided to punish people because he can’t get the specific type of border security he wants. Is he punishing the illegal immigrants? Is he punishing the refugees? Is he punishing the Mexican drug lords? No. He is punishing working Americans. He is forcing them to go without pay even though they have bills to pay. He is forcing many of them to work despite the fact they have no money to pay for child care, gas, tolls, parking, or money to pay the next car payment, rent payment or mortgage.
What is my president thinking? He had a father who seeded him $1 million to start and who gave him more millions when things got tough for him such as when a few of his business ventures went bankrupt.
I wonder if any of our 800,000+ American men and women working to put food on their tables have a daddy who can give them a couple of million when things get tough.
I wish all of us who have paying jobs or a steady retirement income would call our President, Mitch McConnell, and our senators and demand that they stop punishing our fellow Americans. Immediately.
