Man dies after being hit by vehicle on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Leesburg

A 59-year-old pedestrian was killed Monday night when he was struck by a car in Leesburg.

Jawad Armendo Rodolpho suffered fatal injuries when he was hit by a 2006 black Honda CRV driven by 65-year-old John Sandoval, of Sorrento. Rodolpho was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries, a Leesburg Police report states, adding that Sandoval wasn’t injured.

The incident took place Monday night at about 9:20 p.m. in the area of U.S. Hwy. 441 near Lakes Boulevard. Traffic was diverted around the crash scene for approximately 2½ hours, the report says.

The crash remains under investigation by the Leesburg Police Department’s Traffic Unit. Anyone with further information is asked to contact them at (352) 728-9860.
