An 86-year-old driver was transported by ambulance from the scene of a crash Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake.

An 86-year-old driver was transported by ambulance from the scene of an accident Wednesday on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake.

Muriel Madge Brown, of Lady Lake, had been at the wheel of a silver 2010 Honda Accord at 2:56 p.m. at a stop sign at Guava Street and attempting to cross U.S. Hwy. 27/441 when another driver provided her room, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Emergency personnel were at the scene of the crash.

While attempting to cross the roadway, her vehicle collided with a black 2015 GMC Yukon XL driven by 75-year-old Robert David Lankes, of Ocala.

Brown was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital. She also was ticketed for careless driving.
