Former member of popular Villages town square band dies after brief illness

Don Johnson, a former member of the band Cactus Jack and the Cadillacs, died recently after a brief illness.

The oldies band has long been a popular attraction at town squares in The Villages. Johnson gave the band a spark with his energy and passion for rock and roll.

Johnson, 62, “died peacefully” on Jan. 16 at Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, according to his obituary at dignitymemorial.com.
