Kenneth Sassaman

Kenneth Charles Sassaman Sr., 88, went to be with the Lord Febuary 15, 2019. He was born in Greenburg, PA, May 11, 1930 to John and Cora Sassaman. He served in the US Air Force from 1948 – 1952. SSGT Sassaman served on the Honor Staff for a visit from Air Marshall Sir Harold Tedder of the Royal Air Force and the Shah of Iran at Wright Patterson AFB. He was a member of Robert Burns Masonic Blue Lodge, Consistory, and Zembo Shrine Temple in Harrisburg, PA, also a member of the American Legion Post 347 in Lady Lake FL. He worked as a referee for high school, college and semi pro football for 28 years. He was Asst. Vice President for Data Processing at Penn Blue Shield. Then he served York County as director of data processing in PA, from 1973 – 1993 retiring and moving to the Villages, FL. He then worked for Hacienda Hills Golf Course as an Ambassador for 15 years. He was an avid golfer, loved camping, country music, his children and his loving wife Ellen.
He is survived by his wife Ellen, his children, Deanna Rinebolt of San Bernardino, CA, Kenneth Sassaman Jr. of Gettysburg, PA, Teresa Kanter of Delano, CA, Kevin Sassaman (Kim) of Hummelstown, PA, Brandon Sassaman (Julie) of Ocala, FL, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Al, Fred, Jim and sister Dorothy Moyer of Northumberland, PA.
