To the Editor:
The Villages Golf Festival has been a very popular and well run event since the beginning until this year. In the past, the very entertaining Scooter the DJ would emcee the festivities and make hourly announcements of door prize winners throughout the day. They were posted so everyone could see the results and know the prizes were being given away as promised.
This year, as of this writing one week later, the staff at Tierra Del Sol golf course who are handling the prize drawings stated that the prizes have not been drawn yet. Also, the very competitive 9-hole skills challenge that also had leaders and winners updated throughout each day, still has no winners decided .. one week after the event! Ten very valuable prizes were to be awarded based on highest scores, and one week later, no one can decide the highest scores? I know Florida has a reputation for questionable voting practices, but the Golf Festival has been run smoothly, honestly, and efficiently for years. What has happened this year to make the integrity of the event come into question and why?
