A man was arrested after a traffic stop early Tuesday morning at the Sharon L. Morse Medical Center in The Villages.
A green Ford Explorer driven by 26-year-old Zachary Wendell Caruthers, of Wildwood, was spotted by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy at 12:16 a.m. Tuesday at Denny’s on Bella Cruz Drive in The Villages. A search of the vehicle’s tag indicated it had expired in 2017 and the vehicle’s owner has a suspended license. The deputy followed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at the Sharon L. Morse Medical Center.
Caruthers admitted his license was suspended. He was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended. It was his second offense, the arrest report noted. He also was cited for the expired tag.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $500.
