Property Owners Association thanks Lowe’s for help with shredding event

The Property Owners Association held its first annual community-wide shredding day on Feb. 9 at Lowe’s home improvement store at Trailwinds Village on County Road 466A in Wildwood.

Villagers were able to shred financial documents and records, as well as binders and phone books. The POA had two shredding trucks available to serve nearly 500 carloads in the Lowe’s parking lot.

The event was so popular that traffic was congested on County Road 466A and the event was shut down an hour early due to traffic.

The POA has pledged to add more shredding trucks next year to accommodate the increased demand for shredding services.

The POA was founded in 1975 when The Villages consisted of Orange Blossom Gardens on the Historic Side of The Villages.
