To the Editor:

I was so pleased to read the front-page self-congratulatory news in Wednesday’s Daily Sun that the paper was chosen as a finalist for “The World’s Best-Designed Newspaper” by the Society for News Design.
One of the judges said: “We were adamant that we weren’t just looking at aesthetics, but at the wonderful symphony of journalism that is created by combining text, design, photography and illustration.”
I would suggest that The Daily Sun doesn’t even know the meaning of the term “journalism.”
When and if it ever receives recognition as a real newspaper, I might change my opinion, although I am not holding my breath awaiting that improbability. Otherwise, it still remains nothing but a “pretty” newspaper, good for nothing but wrapping rotting fish.
