A dog sitter sought treatment at a hospital after suffering a bite in The Villages.

The 46-year-old Indiana woman had been dog sitting for her sister at a home on Jason Drive in the Village of Silver Lake when she suffered a bite to her right hand, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Lake EMS responded to the home and the woman said she would have a friend take her to the hospital for further treatment.

She told police she had been trying to bring Linus, a Border Collie/terrier mix, into the house when she suffered the bite.

The 67-year-old owner returned to The Villages and met Tuesday with the Lady Lake Animal Control officer. The owner presented proof of a rabies vaccine and signed a home quarantine agreement for the dog.
