Intoxicated woman in bikini arrested after fleeing scene of crash in The Villages

Carrie Head

An intoxicated woman in a bikini was arrested after fleeing the scene of a crash in The Villages.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies responded at 11 p.m. Thursday to Southern Trace Plaza, where a man said that his vehicle had been struck by a Honda van. He provided a possible license plate number. He said the woman driving the van appeared to be intoxicated and was wearing only a bikini.

The man said he and the woman had pulled into a parking lot at Circle K to exchange information. She told him that she didn’t have insurance and offered to provide him “services” as payment for the damage to his vehicle, according to an arrest report. That’s when he called law enforcement and she drove away.

The van and 33-year-old Carrie Lee Head were found at her home at 12081 NE 51st St. in Bison Valley in Oxford. When deputies arrived, she was in the yard, wearing the bikini. It appeared Head had been drinking. She failed field sobriety exercises. She refused to provide a breath sample.

Head was arrested on charges of hit-and-run and driving under the influence. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $2,500 bond.

Head had been arrested Dec. 14 after a battle with another woman at her home over child care. At the time of that arrest, Head also appeared to have been drinking.
