Gloria Shuman Gaines, 94, of Summerfield, FL, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019 at home.
Gloria was born in Ocala Florida, the first of four daughters of George Washington Shuman and Olivia Toffaletti Shuman of Dunnellon, Florida.
She was a graduate of FSU with a Bachelor in Business. Gloria worked as a secretary in the State Dept. in Tallahassee where she met her husband Jack Mason Gaines shortly after WWII. They were married 63 years until his death. After raising her children she returned to school and earned her Teaching Degree and also attended Technical College to earn her Architectural Contractor’s License, building homes in both FL & in NC.
