The “Showcase of Talent” and The Villages Pops Chorus continue to entertain and raise money for charity.
The monthly Showcase of Talent – hosted and created by Diana and Joe Arlt – will be held Friday, March 15, at 6 p.m. in the La Hacienda Recreation Center. This month’s theme is “Give My Regards to Broadway” and features show tunes.
The Villages Pops Chorus will present “I’ve Got the Music In Me” on April 8 at 3 and 6 p.m. in the North Lake Presbyterian Church.
Diana and Joe Arlt, on behalf of “Showcase of Talent,” recently donated $6,000 to the Bob Washington Jazz Scholarship, which annually awards more than $15,000 to jazz students. The Jazz Lovers Club of The Villages raises money for the scholarship.
“It’s all part of our goal of keeping music alive in The Villages,” Diana Arlt said.
Bill Davis, director of the Chorus, recently announced donations of $7,000 to local charities. The money was raised by the “Give A Hoot” concert series by the Pops Chorus Folk Singers.
Tutors For Kids Inc. received $3,500 and another $3,500 was donated to All One Family Inc.
