Villager struck in accident in Leesburg that claims life of fellow pedestrian

A Villager was struck by an automobile at an accident scene where another pedestrian had been struck and fatally injured.

June Griffin, 64, of the Village of Del Mar was struck by a 2000 Saturn driven by 64-year-old Norma McDuffie of Leesburg on Friday night at Pine Street and Knott Street, according to the Leesburg Police Department. A short time earlier, a vehicle driven by 77-year-old Leola Jordan, had struck pedestrian Jo Ann Taylor, 60, of Leesburg. Several people were attending to her when the second collision occurred.

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene scene. Griffin was taken by ambulance to Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

The roadway was shut down for approximately four and half hours during the investigation.
