Joseph Michael Jacobini

A Villager was arrested after an angry confrontation with another man at Grand Traverse Plaza.

Joseph Michael Jacobini, 60, of the Village of DeSoto, had argued with the other individual Wednesday in the parking lot of the shopping center, according to the Wildwood Police Department. The other individual left the parking lot and was stopped at a traffic light at State Road 44 and Powell Road when Jacobini pulled up next to him. Jacobini allegedly struck the other vehicle’s review mirror. The other man’s wife, who was also in the vehicle, verified her husband’s account of events. Damage to his car was estimated at $400.

Jacobini was arrested on a charge of criminal mischief. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.

He and his wife, Kelly, purchased their home at 2429 Woods Way in November for $496,300.

Last year, a Village of Antrim Dells man was arrested after a violent confrontation with a Pennsylvania man in the same parking lot. The Pennsylvania man was in a golf cart with his two daughters who witnessed the altercation.
