A SECO substation problem resulted in a power outage for more than 4,000 customers in The Villages. 

The outage occurred at about 10:35 a.m. Friday.

The problem was traced to a piece of faulty equipment at the Lake Ella substation. SECO said 4,268 members were impacted. Most had power restored by 11:15 a.m. Friday.

Among those impacted were residents of the Village of Pennecamp, the Village of Buttonwood, the Village of Liberty Park and the Village of Tamarind Grove.
