Lorraine Curson

Lorraine Evelyn Curson, 93, of the Villages, Florida, peacefully passed away April 3, 2019 at her home. Lorraine was married 61 years to Albert Curson who passed away in their home at the Villages, Florida, November 5, 2009. He remained in their bedroom until they could be reunited at death. Lorraine was born in Port Jefferson, New York, the youngest child of the late Daniel and Mary Terrell. Albert was born in Newcastle, England, the only son of the late Albert and Eleanor Curson. He came to NY at the age of 3.

 

Albert and Lorraine attended the First United Methodist Church of Port Jefferson, NY before moving to Florida in 1986.

 

Lorraine was a homemaker and later worked as a bookkeeper for a local University and Sears Automotive Center. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Rebekkah’s. She enjoyed shopping for clothes, going out to eat, and loved being in her garden. She kept working in her garden until she was no longer able to go outside.

 

Albert was a banker rising up to Senior VP and worked for the same bank for over 35 years. He helped start a branch of a different bank right before he retired. He was an avid golfer for many years and was active in St. Georges Golf Club on LI. Lorraine and Albert golfed together for a few years. Albert volunteered for the Salvation Army for 35 years and also was very active with the Setauket Lion’s Club.

 

Both Lorraine and Albert enjoyed traveling with their family as they grew up and with friends when they retired to Florida.

 

Lorraine and Albert are survived by daughters, Donna Conforti of Towanda, PA, married to James and Caren Welsh of Ellicott City, Maryland, married to John. They have four grandchildren Annie Welsh of Virginia, Johnnie Welsh of Maryland, Sean Cardineau married to Beth of Maryland, and Denis Cardineau married to Emily of Brooklyn, NY. They have two great grandchildren, Mason and Aria Cardineau of Maryland. They also have three step -grandchildren, Haley, Hunter, and Natalie Conforti.

 

A memorial service will be held July 13 at 10 am at the First United Methodist Church in Port Jefferson, LI, NY. Both will be buried in Lorraine’s (Terrell) family plot at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Port Jefferson, NY. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the First United Methodist Church, 603 Main St, Port Jefferson, NY or Kindred Hospice, 1320 SE 25th Loop, Suite 101, Ocala, FL 34471.
