The Dunedin pool and postal station

A different maintenance company is taking over work at two facilities in The Villages.

KB Lawn and Landscaping Inc. had a contract to provide landscaping and irrigation maintenance at the Manatee Recreation Center and the Village of Dunedin pool and postal station, both located on Hillsborough Avenue. The contract called for KB Lawn and Landscaping to be paid $2,527.95 per month or $30,335.40 annually for the Manatee Recreation Center and $779.25 per month or $9,351 annually for the Dunedin postal station. The work included yearly Zoysia maintenance, bed maintenance and replacement of annuals four times per year.

“KB Lawn and Landscaping, Inc. had decided that at this time they no longer would be in a position to provide landscape and irrigation maintenance services for their District Agreements,” according to a memo prepared for members of the Project Wide Advisory Committee.

Kevin Burke, owner of KB Lawn and Landscaping Inc., said he sold the commercial maintenance portion of his business. KB still handles residential lawn care as well as commercial landscaping.

“We decided to go in a different direction,” Burke said.

Hardscapes of Central Florida LLC will be taking over the contracts at the same price.

PWAC will discuss the change when it meets at 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 6 at the District Office at Lake Sumter Landing.
