An enraged Oxford man was arrested after a battle with his girlfriend and her child over a 911 call.
Darin Lee Fort, 31, was involved in an argument with his girlfriend Friday afternoon over Facebook and text messages, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
The woman got her keys and attempted to leave, but Fort used his hands to push her back by her forehead and her chest, the arrest report said.
The woman grabbed her cell phone in an attempt to call for help, but he grabbed the phone from her and threw it. The woman then told her child to call 911, but Fort took the phone and smashed it on the ground.
He was arrested on charges of battery and depriving use of 911. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
