Shoplifting suspect with methamphetamine arrested at Best Buy

Sean Sellers

A shoplifting suspect with methamphetamine was arrested Tuesday afternoon at Best Buy at Village Crossroads.

Sean Michael Sellers, 33, of Ocklawaha, was observed on video surveillance using an anti-theft key to open a locked plastic box which contained a Garmin Vivomove HR Smart Watch, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He then left the store without paying for the smart watch.

Sellers was spotted riding as a passenger in a red pickup in the parking lot of Best Buy.

As Sellers was removed from the pickup, the smart watch fell from his lap. A search of his backpack turned up a small plastic jar which contained methamphetamine.

He was also found to be in possession of an anti-shoplifting tool.

A criminal history check revealed that Sellers had three previous convictions for theft in Pennsylvania, as well as three in Florida.

Sellers was arrested on charges of theft, possession of methamphetamine and possession of an anti-shoplifting device. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $6,000 bond.
