Two drivers were ticketed after a three-car crash Wednesday afternoon on County Road 466 near its intersection with Rolling Acres Road.

Michelle Rae Hammond, 44, who lives in the Cove Apartments in Lady Lake, had been at the wheel of a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country van at 1:45 p.m. heading east on CR 466 when her vehicle rear-ended a 2017 Hyundai Elantra driven by 72-year-old Patricia Ann Shaw, of The Villages, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

A woman was transported by ambulance from the scene of a crash Wednesday afternoon on County Road 466 near its intersection with Rolling Acres Road.

The Village of Santo Domingo resident said she had hit her brakes because a vehicle in front of her had slammed on its brakes to avoid hitting a bird.

After rear-ending the Villager’s vehicle, Hammond’s vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2007 Audi A4 driven by 20-year-old Erykah Leeshunn Hall, of Eustis. She was transported by ambulance to Leesburg Regional Medical Center. Her vehicle was towed from the scene by Kling Towing.

Hammond was ticketed on a charge of following too closely.

Hall was ticketed on a charge of driving while license suspended.
