The Villages of Marion Unit 56 Drainage Project will commence on Wednesday, June 26.
The project will restore gravity storm sewer functionality to the area. The contractor has already begun mobilization of equipment and materials to the project site.
For approximately 30 days, a portion of SE 82nd Calumet Avenue, between the Calumet postal station and McLawren Terrace, will be closed. The closure and detour route maintenance of traffic will be in place to notify the traveling public of the change in traffic flow. The project is scheduled to take 150 days for completion.
The Community Development District 4 Board of Supervisors in May made an emergency declaration to begin the repair work in the wake of sinkholes that first opened up in February 2018.
