The John Bartram Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Friday, July 19 at the Eisenhower Recreation Center.
The meeting, which lasts from 10:30 a.m.-noon, will feature guest speaker Eloise Waller, of Operation Shoebox. She will talk about the group’s many activities to support troops around the globe.

Hundreds of Operation Shoebox volunteers mobilize monthly for programs that make a difference in the daily lives and morale of military servicemembers. Those volunteers work hard to create care packages, write notes of encouragement, sew ditty bags and even knit caps for soldiers to wear under their helmets.
Besides volunteering time and materials, members solicit donations to cover expenses, such as postage. The organization receives and fulfills individual requests to show how much Americans appreciate the mission of our men and women in uniform.
The DAR John Bartram Chapter is a patriotic services, education and historic preservation organization. And its members – many of whom volunteer with Operation Shoebox – commend the efforts of the service organization.
