Villager’s son arrested after allegedly leaving scene of altercation

Michael Brian Kelly

A Villager’s son was arrested after allegedly leaving the scene of a physical altercation in Villa De Leon in the Village of Alhambra.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies had been called at 8:48 a.m. Tuesday to 1625 Navidad St., where the physical altercation was reportedly taking place.

A resident of the home, 34-year-old Michael Brian Kelly, was spotted driving his mother’s red Nissan Murano onto El Camino Real from Botello Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted at El Camino Real and Enrique Drive. Kelly confirmed that he had been involved in the altercation, the arrest report said.

It was determined that Kelly was driving on a license which had been suspended for failure to pay child support.

He was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $250.
