BBQ restaurant plans to locate at new development on U.S. Hwy. 27/441

A barbecue restaurant is the latest tenant announced for Lady Lake Commons, a new development on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake.

The Lady Lake Commission on Monday evening will be presented a conceptual presentation of the proposed Mission BBQ restaurant by Benchmark Group, the developer of the project.

This overview shows where Mission BBQ will be located within Lady Lake Commons.

Maryland-based Mission BBQ founders Bill Kraus and Steve Newton say they are passionate about barbecue. The restaurants have a very patriotic feel to them. Mission BBQ features prominent displays honoring the military, police officers and first responders. Mission BBQ has been expanding rapidly throughout the eastern half of the country. Mission BBQ expects to end 2019 with 95 locations.

The restaurant will share a 5,600-square-foot building at Lady Lake Commons. Mission BBQ will have 3,500 square feet of gross floor area with a 500-square-foot patio area.

The first restaurant announced for the development was Miller’s Ale House.

The Lady Lake Commission will hear the presentation at 5:15 p.m. Monday at Town Hall.
