Sumter County sheriff’s detectives are asking for help in nabbing a woman who stole a bank envelope full of cash from a customer at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in The Villages.

Sumter County sheriff’s detectives are looking for the woman pictured above in the blue jacket in connection with the theft of $400 from a customer at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market at 270 Heald Way in The Villages.

Detectives says the theft occurred on July 26 when the woman pictured in the blue jacket above stole a Citizens First Bank envelope containing $400. The envelope had been placed on a counter by a person who was conducting a transaction at the store, located at 270 Heald Way across from the Colony Plaza, a sheriff’s office report states.

Detectives believe the woman intentionally stole the envelope, as she positioned her body to conceal her actions before departing with the victim’s money.

The suspect was seen in the store accompanied by an elderly female. Anyone who recognizes either of the woman or knows anything about the crime is asked to contact Detective A. Dodge at (352) 793-2621 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
