A Lakeside Landings woman was arrested after she was found to be in possession of heroin.
Danielle Murphy, 26, who lives on Admiral Way in the development in Oxford, had been traveling in a black Nissan at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday when she was pulled over on State Road 500 in Tavares, according to an arrest report from the Tavares Police Department.
A search of Murphy’s purse turned up numerous needles, numerous empty bags that contained the residue of brown powder and numerous pieces of tin foil. A half gram of heroin was also discovered. Murphy said she had started using several years ago, but had been sober for approximately three years. She said that approximately two weeks ago she relapsed and started using again.
The officer noted in the report that Murphy was “extremely cooperative and honest throughout the entire investigation.”
The New York native was arrested on a charge of possession of heroin. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.
