Golden Retriever rates Oscar nod in ‘Racing in the Rain’

If animals could win Oscars, the golden retriever Enzo would be a sure bet to get a nomination. We accompany Enzo on its trip through life in “The Art of Racing in the Rain,” one of the best movies of the year.

Enzo is picked by race car driver Denny Swift (Milo Ventimiglia) as a companion in his time off-track. The dog competes with his wife and daughter for attention, but soon they find their respective niches.  We follow the story line through Enzo’s eyes as narrated by Kevin Costner. Enzo hopes to be reincarnated someday as a human.

The dog’s thoughts and travails are understandable. This is great family entertainment and receives an A grade, must-see rating.  If you have visiting grandchildren, take them to see this PG movie currently showing at the Rialto Theater in The Villages.
