A Baldwin brother is coming to The Villages ands it’s not the one who famously parodies President Trump on “Saturday Night Live.”
Stephen Baldwin, the younger brother of Trump impersonator Alec, will be the keynote speaker at the 2nd annual Trump Day Dinner. The event, which is being put on by Villagers for Trump, will be held Oct. 3 from 6-9 p.m. at the Eisenhower Recreation Center.
Stephen Baldwin, an actor, director, producer and author, has made no bones about his support for the president – despite his brother Alec’s continuing parody of Trump on “SNL.” The former “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant also apparently is in a rift with his daughter, television personality and model Hailey, who supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election and said her father’s stance has “ripped” their family apart.
Stephen Baldwin said in early 2018 that he hadn’t spoken with Alec since the 2016 presidential election. He’s called his portrayal of Trump “nasty” and “not funny” and suggested his brother perpetrates the “spirt of hate.”
In one of his many “SNL” appearances as Trump, Alec responded with a swipe at his younger brother for supporting the president.
“I’ve got Sarah Palin; I’ve got Chachi and I’ve even got the best Baldwin brother – Stephen Baldwin,” he said.
Another brother, Billy, also took a shot at Stephen after he wrote on Twitter that their late father, Alexander, would be “ashamed” and “disgusted” by the media. Billy fired back with a tweet suggesting that if their father was alive, he’d have smacked Stephen in the side of his head.
Stephen Baldwin’s support for Trump isn’t his first foray into backing conservative candidates. In 2007, the outspoken supporter of Evangelical Christianity backed former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in his bid for the White House. In 2008 after Huckabee dropped out of the race, he switched his allegiance to the John McCain-Sarah Palin ticket.
Stephen Baldwin also is known for famously threatening to move to Canada if Barack Obama was elected president. He even challenged him to a boxing match for charity. And in 2011 he mentioned the idea of entering the 2013 race to become New York’s mayor after Alec suggested he might run for the office.
Stephen Baldwin also has appeared in 60 films, including “Born on the Fourth of July,” “Threesome,” “The Usual Suspects,” “Bio-Dome” and “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.” And in addition to his stint on TV’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” he has been in “The Young Riders” and “Celebrity Big Brother 7.”
Stephen Baldwin also owns a production company that develops projects for radio, television and feature films. And he has appeared in faith-based films and on Fox News, CNN, “Today” and “The 700 Club.”
