The Wildwood Community Center will be offered as a pet-friendly shelter during Hurricane Dorian.
The center, located at 5600 Powell Road, will open at 10 a.m. Monday.
A second shelter is being offered at the Sumter County Fairgrounds in Webster.
Sumter County is opening these shelters for local residents living in mobile homes, recreational vehicles and low-lying flood-prone areas, as well as out-of-county evacuees fleeing from the East Coast. Residents living in site-built homes can shelter in-place.
