Roger G. Rowe

Roger G. Rowe, age 77, of The Villages, Florida passed away at his home on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

He was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota by the late Mildred and Grant Rowe. Roger graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1960 and continued his studies at The University of Minnesota, Duluth. In 1971 he graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Master’s of Science in Geology. He worked as a Geologist for ExxonMobil for 38 years and then as a Geological Modeler for Subsurface Computer Modeling for 12 years.

He retired to The Villages, Florida with his wife Jane in 2008 where he enjoyed flying his plane and bicycling. Roger was a strong man of faith and believed in the soon return of Jesus Christ to earth.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Jane B. Rowe; son Glen Roger Rowe; sisters Isabelle Johnson (Dr. Dan), Marilyn Keillor (Richard); brothers John Rowe (Sharon), Clifford Rowe (Amy), and Darrel Rowe (Nancy).

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Jean Marie Rowe and his daughter Kristen Rowe.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, from 2-4 pm, located at Hiers-Baxley Funeral and Cremation Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, Florida 32162.

Services will be held in Ramsey, Minnesota at the Trott Brook Gospel Hall with a graveside service at Oneota Cemetery in Duluth, Minnesota. Dates and times are pending.

As some of you may know, Roger has an extremely mentally challenged and physically wheelchair bound son who periodically attends SCARC, which is a handicapped center in Bushnell for this type of individual.  In lieu of flowers, a small donation to this facility in the name of Roger and Glen Rowe will help SCARC achieve its goals: scarcinc.org/objandhist.asp.
