Ramon G. Ibarra and Michel Serrano

Lake County sheriff’s deputies were on patrol in the unincorporated area of Fruitland Park when they came across 43-year-old Ramon G. Ibarra and 39-year-old Michel Serrano at JB’s Food Mart, located at 4075 Picciola Road. Deputies determined that the two were in the process of installing the skimmers and detectives are working to determine if they could be responsible for any others that have been found around the state, a sheriff’s office report states.

Ibarra, of North Miami Beach, and Serrano, of Miami Gardens, were taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail, where they were charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief, use of a scan skim device, petit theft, identity theft and drug charges.

Ibarra is being held on $13,000 bond, while Serrano was released Friday night on the same bond amount. Both are due in Lake County Court on Nov. 4 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charges.
