Man wanted on warrant arrested after found sleeping at Starbucks

Michael Shepherd

A man wanted on a warrant was arrested after he was found sleeping at a local Starbucks.

Michael Alan Shepherd, 39, of Oxford, was found sleeping at about 5:30 a.m. Oct. 10 next to the employees-only door at the Starbucks at the corner of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Rolling Acres Roads, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He told police he was “just resting” there.

A check revealed Shepherd was wanted on a Marion County warrant charging him with failure to appear at a violation of probation hearing. He is on probation following a conviction on a domestic violence charge.

Shepherd was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail. He was transferred Tuesday to the Marion County Jail.

He was also told not to return to that Starbucks or he would be arrested.
