A winning $1 million Florida Lottery ticket was purchased recently at a Leesburg grocery store.
Beverly Neumann, 69, of Mascotte, claimed the prize from the new $5,000,000 LUCK Scratch-Off game earlier this month at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $760,000.
Neumann purchased her winning ticket at Winn Dixie, located at 27405 U.S. Hwy. 27 in Leesburg. The retailer is receiving a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The new $20 game launched in September and features more than $329 million in cash prizes, including six top prizes of $5 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-2.97.
Scratch-Offs are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, generating more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2017-18, and comprising approximately 69 percent of ticket sales.
The Florida Lottery is responsible for contributing more than $35 billion to education and sending more than 808,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
