An apparently intoxicated woman was hauled away in handcuffs after a verbal battle with a man at Water Oak.
A 911 call was received at about 2 p.m. Monday and the dispatcher could hear a male and female arguing, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The call eventually led officers to the 600 block of Sycamore Square in the 55+ community on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake.
As an officer approached the residence, a man could be heard yelling, “Get out of my house,” at a woman later identified as 52-year-old Linda Landry, of Mount Dora. Both Landry and the man appeared to be intoxicated.
Landry took a swing at one of the officers. As an officer tried to place Landry into handcuffs, she pulled away, according to the incident report. She was placed in the back of a squad car and was able to partially slip out of the handcuffs. She complained to police that she was “passing out” and asked to be taken to a hospital. She was taken to Advent Health in Tavares and issued a notice to appear in court to answer to a charge of disorderly intoxication.
