Kiara Marie Cuadrado

A waitress has been arrested after a brawl with a cook at the Waffle House in Wildwood.

Kiara Marie Cuadrado, 18, of Summerfield, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of battery after turning herself in at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Building at Pinellas Plaza in The Villages.

She was being sought by law enforcement as a result of the Oct. 8 altercation which occurred at the restaurant off State Road 44 near the Interstate 75 exit.

A cook at Waffle House on the night of Oct. 8 had informed Cuadrado that her order was ready, according to an arrest report. Cuadrado ignored the cook and did not pick up the food. The cook made a second attempt to make Cuadrado aware the food was ready.

“Why are you yelling at me?” Cuadrado asked the cook.

The cook turned around to resume her work, prompting Cuadrado to come from behind and grab the cook by the hair. Cuadrado, who stands 5-feet 1-inch tall and weighs 160 pounds, continued to pull the cook’s hair until she was yanked to the ground. Once on the ground, Cuadrado proceeded to hit and kick the cook “multiple times,” the report said.

A third Waffle House employee intervened to break up the altercation and Cuadrado fled the restaurant. The incident was captured on video surveillance.

The Connecticut native was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
