Hey Weather Channel, what’s up with the political stuff?

John Shewchuk

Hey Weather Channel, what’s up with the political stuff?

You’re now inviting political candidates to engage in discussions about climate change? What’s up with that?

You began in 1982 by providing the American public valuable 24/7 weather information in an objective and unbiased manner.  As your services and products expanded, so did your viewership and value.  But then on July 2008 you sold out to NBC Universal (along with Bain Capital and the Blackstone Group), and programming began changing from weather science reporting to political science advocacy.

Immediately following Obama’s election in November 2008, you went rogue with your “green” spotlight on global warming issues.  Your weather “storm stories” increasingly morphed into climate scare stories. It was now obvious that you joined the main stream media in the global warming, CO2 hoax.  While your “sky is falling” rhetoric increased, so did those who changed the channel to avoid your politically biased excursions into alarmism.

Even your co-founder, John Coleman, knew better when he said in early 2009, “Global Warming: It is a hoax. It is bad science. It is high-jacking public policy. It is the greatest scam in history.”  And then in November 2009, Climategate” happened and now the general public also knew about the scam.  The alarmists were caught with their pants down.  But after nearly 20 years of constant global warming propaganda, the political forces behind the hoax were determined to continue their global agenda regardless of the data.

This was obvious when just one month after Climategate, they doubled down the hoax as Obama’s EPA declared CO2 a pollutant.  CO2 was now public enemy number one. The White House and EPA staff celebrated as they all took a deep breath … and then exhaled CO2.  What a joke.

No wonder President Trump declined your interview invitation.  Why participate in this ridiculous scam?  He was right on target when he promptly pulled out of the Paris Agreement.  It was a no-brainer.  He didn’t even have to read between the lines.  The alarmists openly admitted the truth.  Here are just three examples:

• Prof. Chris Folland (Science Fellow at the UK Met Office Hadley Centre; and former IPCC lead author) said, “The data doesn’t matter. We’re not basing our recommendations on the data.”

• Dr. David Frame (climate modeler for Oxford University’s Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research; and former IPCC lead author) said, “The models are convenient fictions that provide something very useful.”

•  Ottmar Edenhofer (Director of the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change; and former IPCC official).  “… we are effectively redistributing world wealth through climate policy. … One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy.”

The question is, Weather Channel … are you going to believe the alarmists who say it’s not about the data, just fiction, and an illusion … or are you going to believe the public who instinctively knows it’s all a scam?  All you have to do is examine “all” the data. Just watch the Michael Mann lawsuits.  The truth always comes out in the end. Just ask Robert Mueller.

You know, my mother always said, “Never complain about something unless you have a better idea.”  Well, I’m glad you asked.  Here are just six suggestions:

• Discuss why the famous “hockey stick” graph no longer appears in IPCC reports.

• Examine why none of the climate models verify.

• Explain why CO2 levels skyrocket while temperatures barely rise or pause.

• Delve into the complex air/ocean heat and moisture exchange challenges.

• Explain the effects of QBO, ENSO, MJO, PDO, AMO, and AMOC

• Examine the latest cosmic ray theory of clouds and climate.

All the above can be easily accomplished with highly qualified meteorologists and scientists.  These and many others are the “elephants” in the weather room.  These are the pressing “weather science” issues of today — not how a politician is going change our economy and lifestyle.  Politics and science do not mix well, and can have ugly consequences such as when a prior CEO of The Weather Company threw your co-founder, John Coleman, under the bus by saying, ” … he’s not really speaking for The Weather Channel in any way today …”  John may be gone, but his words still ring true … “It is the greatest scam in history.”
