To the Editor:

I had previously dismissed comments about Developer “greed” as normal complaining from some folks. Not this time!
The announced policy of charging an exorbitant fee for “VIP treatment” at the Christmas tree lighting is outrageous and unconscionable.
Does this Developer have no decency in where they will go to extract money from residents? An incredible $50 per person, $80 per couple for appetizers, two lousy drinks and a plastic chair is beyond belief. I would be ashamed to be seen there and have people know I was stupid enough to fall for this rip-off.
And what is meant by “direct access to the square” for the VIPs?  Does that mean non-paying folks will be made to stand in the back or out on the streets around the square?
This is just another in a series of things taken away, or charged for, by the Developer … contrary to promises made to  homebuyers over the years.
One would assume that there is a target list of such greed grabs for the future, too. And I would bet that the cross-hairs will eventually fall on free executive golf as the millennials salivate at the thought of implementing greens fees. Watch out!
