A Summerfield man found himself behind bars late Monday afternoon after a nasty altercation with his lady friend outside an Ocala discount store.
The victim told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that she and 50-year-old Brian Robert Pacetti were arguing over how much money they had spent at the Dollar General store at 198 Marion Oaks Blvd. in Ocala. She claimed Pacetti squeezed a can of Monster Energy drink and caused it to spill all over the inside of their vehicle, spilled beer on her and then struck her in the head several times with an open hand, a sheriff’s office report states, noting that deputies observed redness on the victim’s forehead and her clothing was wet.
The manager of the store said she heard the couple arguing in the parking lot and when she stepped outside, she heard the victim yelling at Pacetti to give her the keys to the vehicle. She also reported seeing Pacetti “reach over from the driver’s side and strike the victim several times in the head,” the report says.
Pacetti, who lives in the 13500 block of SE 87th Circle in Summerfield, admitted to being involved in a verbal altercation with the victim but denied striking her. He was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery (second or subsequent offense). He was released Tuesday night on $500 bond and is due in court Dec. 2 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charge.
