Justin Wachter

An Oxford Oaks man who had been traveling in a silver BMW was arrested with drugs in The Villages.

Justin Wachter, 26, who lives at 3554 Thorne Path at the subdivision constructed and operated by The Villages, on Sunday was at Belk at La Plaza Grande in The Villages when he was spotted on surveillance putting on a Columbia hoodie and removing the tags, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He was wearing the hoodie and carrying a pair of jeans when he left the store without paying for the items. Wachter was also wearing a belt with the price tag still on it.

When police arrived on the scene, a search of Wachter’s pockets turned up plastic bags containing marijuana and heroin. He was also in possession of a cut straw with a powdery residue. A search of Wachter’s BMW led to the discovery of a backpack which contained more heroin, marijuana, a digital scale and a razor blade.

The New York native was arrested on charges of possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $6,000 bond.

The house in which Wachter is residing in at Oxford Oaks is owned by Mid Florida Properties LLC, a company owned by The Villages.
