To the Editor:
I’d heard stories of evening crowds gathering at Lake Sumter Landing, so on Saturday night I decided to check it out.
What is wrong with these people in The Villages?
I couldn’t believe what I saw. There were, literally, several hundred people hanging around the square. Do we need some folks to die before people get the message?
These folks may be naive but it is The Villages that are responsible, or irresponsible, for allowing this to happen. If everything else has been shut down, why can this continue?
Those folks at the square are the same people that mingle with us at Wal-Mart or other local stores and will certainly spread Coronavirus if they are infected.
Local police should be involved to prevent arrogant, irresponsible behavior like this.
