Congressman Daniel Webster on Thursday lent his support to a $484 billion Coronavirus relief package which included another $320 billion infusion for the Paycheck Protection Program.

“I support this bill and am committed to continuing to work with my colleagues to put Americans first as we get through this pandemic and reopen our economy,” said Webster, a Republican who represents The Villages.

Funding for the first installment of the Paycheck Protection Program was exhausted in less than two weeks.

The new measure includes $75 billion for hospitals, $25 billion to establish a national testing program, $60 billion in disaster aid and $310 billion for PPP.

Citizens First Bank CEO and President Lindsey Blaise had announced the bank captured $76.9 million on behalf of 434 small businesses from the first round of PPP.

Citizens First Bank has been offering loans for companies that did not get a piece of the first PPP pie.

“For those that were unable to successfully apply for the PPP, please contact your Citizens First Bank lender to discuss possible options for loans to meet your needs,” the bank said in an announcement on its website.
