Third Buffalo Crossings employee tests positive for COVID-19 virus

Forty-nine cases of COVID-19 have been identified in long-term care facilities in the tri-county area, including a third employee at a Villages facility and 19 patients at an Ocala center.

Three employees and one resident who transferred out have been reported with COVID-19 at Buffalo Crossings Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Buffalo Crossings Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is reporting three positive tests among employees and one resident who transferred out of the facility. Serenades in The Villages is now reporting one employee with a positive test, which was revised from a Thursday report listing three employees with the virus.

The only other Sumter County facility with positive COVID-19 results is Osprey Point Nursing Center in Bushnell with two residents who tested positive, one of whom transferred out of the facility.

Marion County leads the way with 38 Coronavirus cases at assisted living and nursing home facilities. Of those, 19 have been identified as residents of Change of Pace Retirement Center in Ocala. The other Marion County long-term facilities with positive test results include:

  • Hampton ALF at Belleview LLC (two residents, one of whom transferred out);
  • Life Care Center of Ocala (five residents who transferred out);
  • Pacifica Senior Living Ocala (one employee);
  • Palm Garden of Ocala (Four residents, one of whom transferred out, and seven employees).

The Lake County facilities with COVID-19 cases include:

  • AdventHealth Care Waterman (one employee);
  • Lake Eustis Health and Rehabilitation Center (one employee);
  • Superior Residences of Clermont (one employee);
  • The Cove at Tavares Village (one resident who transferred out).
