Woman taken to hospital after two golf carts collide near recreation center

A woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital after two golf carts collided near the Bradenton Recreation Center.

The woman was driving a golf cart at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday northbound on Anna Maria Avenue and stopped at a stop sign at Pinellas Place, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She turned left in front of another golf cart which was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Anna Maria Avenue from Pinellas Place.

The front of the woman’s golf cart struck left side of the second golf cart.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to UF Health The Villages Hospital. She was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way from a stop sign.
