A man will have to answer in court after the alleged theft of a $8.50 pint glass full of beer in The Villages.
Charles Christopher Newcomb, 38, of Umatilla, has been ordered to appear May 27 in Lake County Court after jumping over the counter and pouring himself a pint of Yuengling beer May 9 at World of Beer at Spanish Springs Town Square, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lady Lake Police Department.
A 32-year-old female manager called police after Newcomb poured his own beer into a pint glass and walked out the front door of the business. He came back in momentarily and threw a $1 bill at the manager. The beer and glass had a total value of $8.50.
Police officers arrived on the scene and found Newcomb standing in the middle of the road. The manager signed an intent to prosecute. Newcomb was issued a notice to appear and ordered not to return to World of Beer.
